CELEBRATING OUR HEROES

Women’s Mentoring Network would like to thank a true Ambassador of the organization…A local mom & small business owner created her own fundraiser to benefit the Women’s Mentoring Network called “50 for 50”, where she walked 50 miles as a personal challenge to commemorate her 50th birthday.  She asked family and friends to support her by either joining her in a 5-mile loop and/or donating to the Women’s Mentoring Network in honor/memory of a “kick-ass” woman who has been inspirational in the donor’s life.  She’s raised ~$3,000 and the donations continue to come in.  Women’s Mentoring Network mission is to educate, empower and elevate women who are unemployed or underemployed to help realize their economic potential.

We greatly appreciate this Ambassador helping to get the word out about the organization and we share this with everyone to show how much of an impact one person’s efforts can make in the community.

Fairfield Count Bar Foundation hosted an amazingly successful Golf & Lunch Fundraiser to benefit Women’s Mentoring Network at Sterling Farms Golf Club on June 27, 2019. Great weather, great food, a silent auction and raffle made the day perfect.

IN MEMORY OF CATHERINE MCLEAN KIRKWOOD

Women’s Mentoring Network is proud to honor the late Catherine McLean Kirkwood.  Catherine was an inspiration to her family, and she paved the way for other women to seek out their paths of success.

Catherine was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world at age 96.  Born in Scotland, Catherine lost her mother at age 18, at which time she stepped in to help raise her two younger sisters.  Married in her early 20’s, Catherine and her husband made the decision to leave Scotland and settle down in the United States, seeking a better life and to raise their family.

Working in the male-dominated insurance industry, Catherine worked her way up through Liberty Mutual Insurance and ultimately became supervisor of three offices in New York.

Catherine was known to share her delicious homemade Scottish shortbread with friends and family.  Catherine is survived by her two children, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Women’s Mentoring Network is proud to part of the following collaboratives:
